How to Choose the Right Wedding Dress for Your Body Type

How to Choose the Right Wedding Dress for Your Body Type

Here are a few hints that will help you look great on your wedding day.

Tall Brides
Consider: Opt for simple shapes and silhouettes. If you are proud of your height then show it. The point is to emphasize your proportions. If you decided to choose a dress with long sleeves, then let them go past your wrists. Shorter sleeves will make others think that the wedding dress you are in was borrowed from a shorter lady.
Remember: Decorations and details should also be simple and straightforward. You are quite noticeable due to your height and you do not need any other more extravagant embellishments. If you want to look cute rather than elegant, you might try rosettes and ruffles. Do we think you need them? We don’t.

Busty Brides
Consider: A gown with an open U-shaped neckline is an excellent solution. It will make your neck look longer plus open your face. The cut should not be too deep. Dresses with necklines that go across, on the contrary, will only make you look larger.
Remember: Sheeny fabrics should be avoided. The effect that organza, silk or satin give will add pounds and unwanted attention to your bust. Ruched details won’t help you look any slimmer either.

Plus-Size Brides
Consider: The so-called “Empire” dress is what plus-sized prides should look for. The skirt in such dresses begins just beneath the chest and has A-shape. Pleating of the material might spoil the look – you will remind of a pregnant woman in such a dress. A dress that is too loose will make you look larger.
Remember: Fabrics such as satin are highly recommended. This kind of material provides structure and play up your shape. Too flowy fabrics are not a good idea. If you want a more sensual look, add an embroidered shawl.

Apple-Shaped Brides
Consider: What you need is a gown that cinches at the narrowest part of your waistline and flares out. An A-shaped dress is perfect. You might want a bodice with ruche or laces. You will need these details to look slimmer. Another trick to use is to choose a dress with a V-cut neckline. The deeper, the better! Apple shaped ladies need at least one vertical line.
Remember: Trumpet dresses should be avoided. This type of dresses is straight all along and only flares out at the knees. Your legs are not a problem, while your midsection is.

Pear-Shaped Brides
Consider: A flared long skirt is the perfect shape for a wedding dress if your figure is pear-shaped. This type of skirts additionally demonstrates the narrow waistline and hides wider hips and thighs. It is great if the top has a V-cut.
Remember: A-line silhouette is well-known and is wonderful for special occasions during which you want to look chic, classy and elegant. If it is made from a casual material, such as raw-silk shantung or eyelet lace, you can dress it down.

Straight-Lined Brides
Consider: If you feel you are not curvy enough, there are a few things you can do to look a little bit different. How about a sheath dress then? If the dress is cut on the bias, then you will look absolutely gorgeous. A nice ball dress that cinches in at the narrowest part of your waistline is also a good idea. Let the skirt be airy, flowy and long. This type of dresses will show how slender you are.
Remember: If your chest is not big enough, search for a “volumizing” bodice.

Petite Bride
Consider: If you are a tiny bride, you have a lot of different styles to choose from. Sheath and trumpet are wonderful. So is a modified A-line gown. The skirt of the dress should start a bit above your natural waistline. In this case your legs will look longer. The variety of fabrics is quite wide as well. Even sheeny materials will look great on you. The only thing to avoid is large detailing, such as big bows.
Remember: Gowns with the waistline below your natural waist are out of the question. Avoid huge ball gowns if you do not want to look even shorter yet wider. Finally dresses that are calf-long do not compliment your legs either.

Long-range strikes against Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup and Southampton in the Premier League were particularly memorable along with a stunning winner against Manchester City at Anfield.

He has found the net eight times for Brendan Rodgers' side in all competitions this season and caught the eye with some brilliant individual displays.
Rodgers claimed earlier in the year that Coutinho has the potential to fill the void left by the departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona last summer.
'You would just pay money to watch that kid,' Rodgers said in February. 'He is a great role model for lots of technical players in this country. He will become world class in the next couple of years.
'Luis Suarez was at a level, then he played in this team and grew and grew with the model and went into the world-class bracket and I can see Coutinho falling in the same sort of way.

Raheem Sterling named Liverpool young player of the year BUT BOOED

Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling was booed and jeered by supporters at the club's annual awards after bagging the player of the year gong.
Sterling has indicated his desire to force his way out of Anfield in the summer having rejected Liverpool's offer of a five-year contract worth £100,000-a-week.
The 20-year-old won Liverpool's young player of the year award and was initially given lukewarm applause as he made his way on to the stage at the Echo Arena.
But during his acceptance speech a number of supporters shouted and booed.

'I'd like to say a big thank you to all my team-mates,' Sterling said, before he made his way back to his table and fans also subsequently jeered when his name was announced as one of the nominees for other awards.
There were also cries of 'sign that contract Raheem' and 'please stay Raheem' as he arrived at the arena in Liverpool.
But the chances of those fans getting their way looks increasingly unlikely. Manchester City are the overwhelming favourites to land him and they believe a bid of around £40million would seal the transfer.

The 20-year-old boarded the same bus as the rest of the team on Tuesday evening at Liverpool's Melwood headquarters headed to the Echo Arena for the annual glitzy ceremony.
Sterling was seen arriving at the training ground in his white Range Rover in the afternoon and then boarding the executive bus wearing a smart shirt and trousers.
The young forward then arrived at the Echo Arena with Paige Milian, who he has been dating, to a subdued reception with a few shouts of 'stay Raheem' and 'sign that contract'. Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard stopped to sign a few autographs for supporters as well before making his way into the arena with the rest of the team shortly before 7.30pm BST.
On Monday it was revealed that the 20-year-old told manager Brendan Rodgers he wants to leave the club as the stand-off over a new contract at Anfield continues.
Sterling's contract saga has overshadowed his on-pitch performances in recent months as he refuses to put pen to paper on a new deal with two years remaining on his current contract.

Liverpool's awards night this year is taking place at the Echo Arena on the dock next to the River Mersey. The club will announce their player of the year among other awards in the ceremony that will be attended by the first team, ladies side, academy players and legends.
The ceremony will be one of Gerrard's last acts as Liverpool captain as he prepares to leave the club to join LA Galaxy.

7 embarrassing symptoms you should NEVER ignore

From excessive sweating to painful bowel motions, embarrassing symptoms can be mortifying to talk about.
However Dr Deyo Famuboni, a GP in London, warns there can be underlying causes for the most humiliating health issues.
Writing for Healthista, she said: 'You may be worried about what would happen when you see your healthcare professional.
'This is understandable, however we are here to make sure you are well looked after and have all appropriate tests and treatments and feel healthy.'
Here, she reveals the seven embarrassing symptoms you should never ignore...

EXCESSIVE SWEATING
According to the NHS, most people sweat about a litre a day.
But some of us, around three people in 100, produce ten times as much sweat each day.
There are various reasons why sweating can become excessive.
Sweating continuously, regardless of activity or stress levels, usually indicates that the sweat glands are constantly activated.
This is a condition called hyperhidrosis.
And it can be focal – meaning, in the armpits or palms – or generalised.
The cause of this can range from infections to drugs to hormone problems, or the cause can be unknown.
Finding and treating the underlying reason is, therefore, crucial.
If antiperspirants don't work, focal sweating can be reduced with items such as deoderants available on prescription.
A referral to a dermatologist may be required as other treatment options such as ionotophoresis (the use of water currents to stop focal sweating), oral medications or Botox are also available.

PAINFUL BOWEL MOTIONS
This can occur as a result of passing stools too frequently or infrequently.
It is often due to haemorrhoids or fissures around the back passage. Straining due to constipation exacerbates this as it causes trauma to the surrounding area.
The pain makes you less inclined to pass stools and this can make it worse as stools get drier and more difficult to move.
It is important to have this treated so as to prevent severe constipation, profuse bleeding or infection in that area.
Painful bowel motions, associated with bleeding or abdominal pain should be investigated by a GP
Painful bowel motions, associated with bleeding or abdominal pain should be investigated by a GP
Treating constipation with dietary changes - including fibre rich foods, exercise and water - is vital to help piles or a fissure heal.
Laxatives and topical ointments and suppositories - where drugs are delivered through the vagina, rectum or urethra - can also be obtained from a pharmacy or prescribed.
This symptom can also be associated with bleeding or lower abdominal discomfort or pain – this warrants a review by your healthcare provider.
Around one in 20 people in the UK will develop bowel cancer in their lifetimes and both of these are symptoms.

NIPPLE CHANGES
This includes leaky or inverted nipples or skin changes around the nipple area.
There are several causes for this, including problems with your hormones.
Provided you are not breastfeeding, producing breast milk should be investigated as it may be due to an excess of the hormone prolactin.
This is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland, named so because of its role in lactation.
Other causes include medications, stress, thyroid and kidney problems. These are all treatable.
If left untreated, it can affect your periods, cause infertility, contribute to osteoporosis and cause pressure effects if due to the benign growth.
Your health practitioner would ask further questions regarding associated symptoms. This may include your family history, menstrual cycle, contraceptive use and vision.
They would then carry out an examination and might organise blood tests.
Depending on their findings, a referral to a breast or hormone specialist may be warranted as you might need a mammogram, ultrasound or biopsy to check for breast cancer.

ABNORMAL SMELL
When the natural environment in the vagina becomes upset, this can lead to an overgrowth of bacteria which causes a ‘fishy’ smell.
This is a condition called bacterial vaginosis, the most common form of discharge in women of childbearing age. It might be associated with discharge and itching.
This is different from a yeast infection (thrush) which causes itch with an odourless discharge and can easily be treated with an over the counter medication such as Canesten cream.

Depending on your symptoms and sexual history, your doctor may examine you and take samples to rule out other infections.
A vaginal gel or antibiotics may be prescribed by your doctor.
Usually, bacterial vaginosis doesn’t cause further problems, however, if it occurs at certain times, such as during pregnancy, it may increase the risk of delivering earlier than expected.
It is also associated with a higher risk of sexually transmitted infections and inflammation of the pelvic region so it’s worth having it treated by your doctor.

BLOATING
Though often harmless - and due to eating foods or drinks that produce excess wind - bloating can also be due to other conditions.
Bloating could be a sign of coeliac disease or fibroids (file photo)
Bloating could be a sign of coeliac disease or fibroids (file photo)
If unexplained or associated with other symptoms, for instance, urine or bowel frequency, abdominal pain, then a visit to your doctor is warranted.
They might test for problems such as coeliac disease - an intolerance to the gluten protein found in food, affecting one in 100 people.
They might also test for fibroids, non-cancerous tumours that grow in or around the womb.
Fibroids are common, affecting up to 40 per cent of women (they’re not harmful but your doctor may treat the symptoms with medication and/or surgery).
Depending on their findings, they may also do blood tests and scans to rule out anything sinister such as ovarian cancer.

INCONTINENCE
Women often find they leak urine when exercising, especially running, or when they cough, sneeze, lift something heavy or laugh.
This is known as stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and can be due to the increase in abdominal pressure with exercise.
It can also be due to an overactive bladder, which is known as urge incontinence.
Some women have both stress and urge incontinence.
In addition to exercise, other causes for this include medications, weak pelvic muscles, urine infections, to name a few.
Treatment options vary depending on the underlying cause.
It is important to see your doctor to rule out any structural abnormalities, test your urine and direct you in the treatment path that would be more suited to your symptoms.
This includes pelvic floor exercises or bladder retraining or seeing a (gynea) urologist.

LOW LIBIDO
The cause of this is complicated and could be due to physical, psychological and social reasons.
Women can experience this due to hormone changes, however, mental health problems, such as depression are a common cause for this.
Depression affects the chemicals in your brain which are required for a normal libido such as serotonin.
Depression can cause sex drive to plummet as it affects the chemicals in the brain required for a normal libido (file photo)
Depression can cause sex drive to plummet as it affects the chemicals in the brain required for a normal libido (file photo)
There may be other symptoms of depression such as trouble sleeping, general aches, as well as feeling sad and hopeless.
Speaking to your healthcare professional can help work out whether your symptoms are due to depression or stress and also signpost you to the best treatment option for you – such as talking therapy, mindfulness or exercise therapy.
Medication might be required as a last resort, depending on the severity of your situation.
It should ideally be one with minimal effects of libido.
Ssome antidepressants affect a woman’s libido and ability to orgasm.
Therefore you might need to try a couple of different ones before settling on one that doesn’t have this effect for you.
