How fat is NIGERIANS and which nations have the highest obesity rates? These new maps may surprise you.

You might think the U.S. is the most obese nation in the world - but if you do, you are wrong.
Soaring rates of obesity in the Pacific Islands, nations in the South Pacific Ocean east of Australia and Fiji, have shot to the top of the worldwide obesity scale.
Previously it has been theorised that Pacific Islanders are genetically predisposed to obesity.
But experts now say the introduction of Western diets to the islands are to blame for the problem.
American Samoa, found south of Samoa, tops the chart, with 75 per cent of the population reported as obese.
Graphic shows an epidemic of obesity across most of the U.S., Europe, Australia and the Middle East. The scale shows the percentage of each country's populations that is defined as obese, with a Body Mass Index of over 30. The Pacific Islands, east of Australia, are the countries with the largest percentage of their population reported as obese. In American Samoa, three quarters of the population is dangerously fat

Nauru and the Cook Islands, also found in the South Pacific Ocean, come in second and third places with 71 per cent and 63 per cent of the population obese.
The islands were colonised by Australian, American, New Zealand, British or French nations after the Second World War, and the diets and social changes introduced blamed for soaring obesity rates.
These colonising nations sought to ‘civilise’ the islanders and introduce ‘proper’ food habits, research has shown.
They encouraged dependency on imported food, meaning the local fishing and farming industries on the islands died out.
Traditional foods of the islands such as fresh fish, meat and local fruits and vegetables have been replaced by rice, sugar, flour, canned meats, canned fruits and vegetables, soft drinks and beer.
Oxford University researchers said these newly introduced foods are ‘energy-dense, nutrient poor’ products which have led to rising levels of obesity.
These Western foods also became a sign of social status among the islanders, research published in the Journal of Development and Social Transformation found.
Islanders were taught to fry their fish, rather than eat it raw as they had done before.
These social changes happened very quickly because of the islands being small and populated by close knit communities.

The Pacific Islands and Kuwait are top of the global obesity scale. American Samoa tops the chart, with 75 per cent of the population reported as obese. One theory is that the Pacific Islanders are genetically pre-disposed to become obese. However, Oxford University researchers say food preparation and cooking habits brought in by Western nations are to blame. The islands' farming and fishing industries were destroyed and they began to rely on foreign imports of foods like rice and sugar, they said

The colonising nations also introduced mining, making land that had previously been used for food gathering infertile.
Pollution from colonial shipping also degraded reefs, which were formerly a rich food source.
Professor Stanley Ulijaszek, of the University of Oxford, said: ‘Previous attempts to explain the disproportionately high rates of obesity in these and other island nations have tended to focus on the geographical isolation of islands and the risk of food shortages.
'Theories have suggested that islanders are genetically predisposed to putting on weight, but we believe this does not explain why obesity has emerged so rapidly on these islands.
'Interventions that tap into the naturally occurring social networks on the islands provide a new, and we believe more effective, way of tackling obesity.’
Bangladesh and Ethiopia came joint last on the list, with 1 per cent of people in these countries carrying too much weight.
Nepal, came second to bottom, with just over 1 per cent of the population reported to be obese.
In fact, the map reveals extremely low obesity rates over most of Africa and south Asia.
The UK has almost 27 per cent obesity whereas France, Italy and Sweden fared considerably better with a less than 10 per cent rate of obesity

In the U.S. a third of the population is obese. Nutritionist Katrina Mather says highly processed, sugar-rich convenience foods and drinks are to blame for high obesity, and the chronic disease it causes. She says the levels of sugar consumed in Western nations like the U.S. and Canada is 'frankly alarming'. She said: 'Sugar is addictive, leading to food craving and overeating - combined with the fact that highly processed foods are devoid of nutrients and as a result don't satisfy hunger'

Experts have said there are high levels of malnutrition in these areas of the world, with some people struggling the calories needed to reach their full physical potential.
Greg Barrow, of the World Food Programme Office, explains: ‘From west Africa, central Africa, to the horn of Africa to Asia, we see high levels of under nutrition.'
‘In Ethiopia, Bangladesh and Nepal in particular, large sectors of the population struggle to have access to the calories they need.
'They also struggle to access the vitamins and minerals they need to reach their full physical and intellectual potential.
‘It’s been recognised in studies, that the largest number of people malnourished live in south Asia, and this graph is drawing on that.
‘They have rapidly growing population and the food demands are high.
‘The largest proportion of populations malnourished occurs in sub Saharan Africa.
‘These are parts of the world where there are high levels of poverty. People are unable to buy the most nutritious food for their families.
‘In Ethiopia you have an economy based on subsistence farming - farmers making enough food to feed themselves and their families.

'Climate change can make it difficult for farmers to feed their family and make a living from their produce at market.
‘But many of these countries have made great strides compared to where we were 20 years ago.'
The map, created using data from the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, shows the global obesity crisis is still a growing issue, as every continent faces a weight issue.
The results show the rising epidemic of fatness across the globe, with high levels of obesity across most of Europe, the Middle East and North America.
In the UK, more than 25 per cent of the population is reported as obese, whereas France, Italy and Sweden fared considerably better, with an obesity rate of less than 10 per cent.
In the U.S., 33 per cent of people are obese, while 27 per cent of Australians carry too much weight.
A person is considered obese if they have a Body Mass Index (BMI) is over 30, and severely obese if they have a BMI of over 40.
Nutritionist Katrina Mather said: 'Preventable chronic diseases, often linked to obesity, are now the world's biggest killers.

'And if you look at the countries where obesity and chronic disease have their strongest hold and try to understand what has been done differently in recent history - the common denominator is a massive shift in what these nations eat and drink.
'My research points the finger at highly processed, sugar-rich convenience foods and drinks lying behind all forms of chronic disease and obesity.
'In non-Western cultures, where traditional diets predominantly consist of unprocessed foods and are low in sugar, it takes only one generation of people eating a more typical Western diet, high in sugar and refined flour, to become predisposed to obesity and develop diabetes.
This is true around the world from Inuit to isolated African communities.
'Considering the time and effort it would take to yield just one teaspoon of sugar from chewing on a sugar cane, highlights that the 'normal Western' consumption of sugar in the form of sweets, convenience foods and soft drinks, is frankly alarming.
'Sugar is addictive, leading to food craving and overeating - combined with the fact that highly processed foods are devoid of nutrients and as a result don't satisfy hunger.
'So, a vicious circle then develops, leading to a society that is over-fed but under-nourished. Unfortunately no additional amount of the same food will make up for the missing essential nutrients.
'And overeating leads to obesity whilst stressing the body, which in turn can lead to the onset of chronic disease.'
Similary, south Asia shows low levels of obesity, compared with high levels in the Middle East and Australia and New Zealand. In India, less than two per cent of the populaiton is obese, whereas more than 33 per cent of the population in Egypt has a BMI of over 30. South Asian countries have rising populations and high demands for food, experts say, but much of the population still struggles to access enough calories

Imperative Choices For Healthy Living — How Many Are You Already Doing?

  1. Drink Water — 10 glasses a day and make sure it’s pure, clean water and not tap water that is over-chlorinated and contains fluoride (yes, fluoride isn’t good for you — READ MORE HERE).  Coffee and alcohol actually dehydrate you, so don’t think that you’re drinking water in your beer or caffeine fix.  It’s especially dangerous as the first sign of dehydration is thirst and when you drink other things it quenches the thirst but doesn’t help the initial problem of dehydration.  Dehydration is only solved when you drink WATER!!!!  Don’t kid yourself otherwise (and totally stay away from the flavoured water!  It’s full of sugar).
  2. MSG, Preservatives, Artificial Colouring and Sweeteners BEWARE!!!  Rule no.1 — just stay 10 miles away from any of the aforementioned things.  They are found in about 80% of products at the store but you can actually survive without them.  Quick tips:  Instead of buying crisps eat non-GMO popcorn or lightly salted crisps (they usually don’t have the MSG) and make yourself a groovy avo dip to accompany and satisfy those taste buds.  Instead of getting packaged soups and stocks (which are loaded with MSG) you can buy vegetable stock powders (look in the health section of your supermarket).  Look for alternatives!  Your great-grandmother didn’t have all this crap in her diet and neither should you.  READ MORE about the dangers of MSG HERE
  3. Cut back on the Sugar (then cut it out) — You can do it!  Yes, I know — what about the ice-cream cravings in summer or that one indiscretion after a meal out?  It’s better to ‘treat’ yourself every now and again than to have a larder full of sugary shite and kid yourself it’s okay!  Seriously, sugar is a major carcinogen.  What is a carcinogen?  A substance capable of causing cancer in living tissue.  Be informed!  I sometimes have a nice gooey dessert but it’s seldom and at home I don’t keep the stuff at all.  Stevia is a great supplement and it’s natural.  Honey in moderation is also a great alternative.  I have been making my own chocolate (cause I’m a choc-o-holic) and it’s completely satiating and de-fricking-licious!  Here is a recipe for mouth-watering choccies that you can make from scratch.
  4. Meat-Free — As a vegetarian, this is a controversial subject and I’m sure many of you have your heckles aimed at me.  I believe we are healthier not eating meat but many will disagree — that is your choice to make and I certainly refrain from judging anyone on this point.  There is loads of information out there about the dangers of meat consumption   Thing is, if you can’t give it up entirely, try at least to incorporate 3-4 meals a week that are meat-free.  And when you do buy meat, please buy it responsibly by supporting your local organic/free-range farmers — do it for them, yourself and for the animals.  You are what you eat, so make sure the animal was pampered as much as possible and not treated appallingly in some over-crowded factory farm.
  5. Exercise and Movement — Most people shudder at the ‘e’ word but come on!  We need to move our bodies and build up a sweat every day.  Find something fun to do — it doesn’t have to be all grind at the gym, you know!?  READ HERE for 25 fun alternatives.
  6. Lactose Leery —  The easiest step to give up — not!  I love my dairy, especially milk.  Although I still smuggle a piece of cheese every now and then, I have cut out most dairy.  I supplement rice milk powder in my hot drinks and smoothies — it’s actually quite yummy — so I’m not really missing the cows milk much.
  7. Organic, Fresh, Raw — You guessed it!  Eat as much organic, raw fruit and veg as you can — especially the green leafy kind.  The more alkaline your body (as in at least 51% alkaline) the less your chances of getting cancer.  Why?  Cancer cannot survive in a body that is predominantly alkaline.    Better still, start your own edible patch — after all, the word on the street is that revolution starts one veg garden at a time!
  8. GMO Wary — Frankenfoods should be setting off alarm bells in your head.  If you’re still not sure why, then you can  READ MORE HERE.
  9. Cut Back on Carbs — Yeah, carbs are delicious but here is some food for thought about these sticky starches:  10 Dangers of Carbohydrates by Dr. Dana Myatt.
  10. State of Mind — You simply cannot thrive on stress, anxiety, anger, fear, regret or other negative emotions.  You can experience them but know that it too shall pass.  If you find yourself harbouring ill-feelings, especially the inability to let go or forgive, you need to explore those emotions and release them in any way you can.  You may have the healthiest diet and the fittest body, but if you are holding onto resentment or anger, you could be a breeding ground for dis-ease.  You’ve got to shovel through your muck and turn it into compost for future growth.  Remember to water that compost with copious doses of healthy self-love!
  11. State of Heart — Listen to your heart and trust your gut instincts.  We all have the natural ability to gauge situations and using our heart-sense will help steer us in the direction of healthy choices for joyful living.  The best thing we can do for ourselves is engage in complete awareness and to take responsibility for our actions.  The ability to drop into our heart centers for guidance will make for a more switched on humanity.
  12. Get Dirty — Right, bear with me here…has she lost her mind, you might ask?  Perhaps, but there is something truly magical to be gained in working with your hands and/or feet in the dirt.  Get into the garden and connect with your planet.  Feel the earth beneath your feet.  Play in the mud.  It’s actually got a name and it’s called ‘earthing’.  For more about this glorious practice and the many ways you will benefit from it — CLICK HERE and HERE.
  13. Smoke and Drug-Free Zone — The less chemicals we pump into our body the better.  Enough said! Still not convinced?  Okay, READ MORE HERE and HERE.
  14. Medicinal Laughter — l mean, seriously — who doesn’t like a good belly wobble?  But did you know that giggles and guffaws come with some seriously wicked benefits?  Like reducing the risk of strokes and heart attacks!  READ MORE HERE.
  15. Get Plenty of Sex!  Just when you thought I’d suck all the joy out of life with this list, I go and totally redeem myself! So, if you are of consensual age and understand what a true and loving relationship built on a deep sense of trust, integrity and openness is then this is the kind of intimacy I’m talking about. Sex has a number of proven benefits for your health but I’d like to reiterate that sex is a sacred union and should not be engaged in flippantly.  READ MORE about the benefits of the side-ways tango HERE.
  16. Candid Coffee and Caffeine — Interesting that I stuck this one at the end…not really.  I LOVE coffee but I know that it affects me badly.  I still sneak in a cup or two every week (*slap on the hand* ) but I am totally aware of what it does to my body (severe lower back pain due to the toxins affecting the adrenal glands on top of the kidneys).  You can READ MORE about it HERE.  I know, it’s a real bummer and believe you me, I’ve tried so hard to debunk that coffee is bad for you but, alas, to no avail — got to tell it like it is.  When I went through my coffee detox I climbed the walls with my eyelashes for 8 days — the pain was that bad!  Coffee is toxic and make no mistake, it’s a drug.

Things That Will Help You Deal With Your Partner’s Jealousy

5 Things That Will Help You Deal With Your Partner’s Jealousy
There are hardly too many people who like to be micro-managed by someone else.
If you are in a relationship with a person who is obsessed with controlling you, here is a list of things to do to make the situation less uncomfortable and tense.
1. Involve him in your daily errands
One more way that will help you cope with your partner’s jealousy is to spend more time doing the usual tasks together. Let him see that there is no one else but him that you are interested in. He will see that you are too busy to see anyone else and that he is allowed to know what you are doing. If you go shopping, ask if he wants to join you. This will prove that it is really shopping you are leaving for and not a date with another guy. He will most likely refuse the offer, but he will feel relaxed knowing that everything is alright.

2. Let others know that you are in a relationship
Let your partner take part in your life. Introduce him to your family member, take him to the parties organized by your company and introduce him to your coworkers. Do not avoid spending your time with friend. Simply meet your friends together with your boyfriend. If you isolate him from the circle of people you keep in touch with, this might make him more jealous.

3. Frequent phone calls
Some men get mad when they are disturbed by phone calls or texting throughout the day. However, this is not the case with those who are jealous. If your partner loves attention and you are aware of it, then be wise and give attention to him! Call him more often, inform him where you are at the moment and tell him about your plans.

4. Let the person know you love your partner
Men are straightforward. Only few of them can feel and read a woman’s mind. The conclusion is: express how much you love and need him more often. Do not hesitate to tell him all about what’s inside your heart. It will make both of you feel much better. Declaration of love is not shameful at all. On the contrary, it’s a kind of therapy that will soften his heart and make him feel more secure and safe. There are a few ways to express your love. Give small gifts or just talk to him about your love.

5. Knowing something about his past relationships
Sometimes people get hurt and later on they keep remembering what happened to them a few year ago. Your partner might be too jealous simply because his last relationship was not as joyful and happy. What if he has once been betrayed or cheated on? If this is the case, then be understanding and realize that he needs some more time to make sure he can trust you 100%.

Have you ever been in a relationship with a jealous boyfriend? What approach did you apply to solve the problem? Share your experience with us.

Manchester United are the second richest club in the world despite suffering their worst Premier League season in history

They may have suffered their worst season in Premier League history but Manchester United have rocketed into second place in a list of the world's wealthiest football clubs.
Despite a campaign of turmoil, which saw David Moyes sacked as they struggled to adapt to life without Sir Alex Ferguson and finished seventh, United are behind only Real Madrid in the Deloitte's Football Money League.
The Old Trafford outfit leapfrogged European superpowers Bayern Munich and Barcelona after their revenues rose from to £433.2m from £363.2m.

Across town, Premier League champions Manchester City remain the second-richest English club, in sixth place globally behind Paris Saint Germain.
League leaders Chelsea remain in seventh, ahead of Arsenal in eighth. Liverpool, no doubt buouyed by last season's ultimately unsuccessful title tilt, rise from 12th place to ninth overtaking Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan.
United's rise is down to its rapid commercial growth, and with more deals announced this year they are expected to go from strength to strength despite the debt that remains from the 2005 Glazer takeover.
In the 18th edition of the report, which uses figures sourced directly from each club and is put together by Manchester-based Deloitte’s Sports Business Group, City recorded the largest increase of any outfit in the top five - news Etihad bosses may see as a vindication of their methods.

Dan Jones, partner at Deloitte’s Sports Business Group, said: “It was a very successful year for the North West clubs. No other region in the world has as many clubs in the top 20 and these clubs play a major role in the North West economy.
'Last year Premier League clubs benefitted from much larger broadcast revenues thanks to the latest round of deals. The Premier League is currently undertaking its next round of sales of broadcast rights and with the market expectation that another significant increase will occur, it is likely that the Money League will have a strongly English appearance in the coming years.'

Facebook: Why do people REALLY put their partner in their profile pic?

Couple selfie for Facebook profile - Adam Jones on Wikimedia

Got something to prove?
A new report says that when people put a picture of their significant other into their Facebook photo it can be a sign they're feeling insecure about their relationship.
The report 'Can You Tell That I’m in a Relationship' by scientists from Canada and the US found that when people are worried about their partner’s affections, they tend to make the relationship more publicly visible.
Putting up a new Facebook photo of the two of you cuddling on a beach is certainly one way to do that. As, of course, is going on the front cover of Hello! magazine.
You're also more likely to write about your boyfriend / girlfriend if you're scared the relationship's a bit shaky. Researchers measured daily changes in people’s feelings, then counted how much they posted about their relationship on Facebook. On days when people feel more insecure than usual, they post more about their relationship.
But there's one catch. People who aren't are very affectionate - what's known as avoidant personalities - tend to post much less about their relationships when they worry about their partner. So people who normally seem a bit cold can really clam up when they're anxious.
There have been hundreds of studies into just what Facebook says about us. The BPS journal has done a survey of the most interesting findings.

Buhari’s WASC Results Released Atlast

Government College, formerly Provincial Secondary School, Katsina, has released the secondary school certificate examination results of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate.
According to Premium Times, the results confirm Buhari’s claim that he undertook the University of Cambridge West African School Certificate Examinations and obtained five credits in English Language, Geography, Hausa Language, History, and Health Science in the schoo in 1961.
It was disclosed that the computer printout of the results was obtained from Cambridge University as well as a statement of result, signed by the current principal of Katsina College, dated January 21, 2015.

The results show that Mr. Buhari, a former military head of state, failed in Mathematics and Woodwork, and had a pass in Literature in English.
The examination centre number was 8280 while Buhari’s candidate number was 002.
It was gathered that statement of results is printed on the letter head paper of the Katsina State Ministry of Education, and it shows that the examination took place in 1961.

The Cambridge print out also shows the result of 17 other candidates at the centre, including Shehu Yar’adua, a former Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters.
It would be recalled that there has been controversy over the result of the former Head of State’s result after the Nigerian Army, which had earlier admitted to having a copies of his certificate, reversed itself saying it could not even attest to the details listed in his records.

According to the spokesperson of the Army, Olajide Laleye,“Neither the original copy, certified true copy (CTC) nor statement of result of Major-.Gen. Mohammadu Buhari‘s WASC result is in his personal file.”
He said while it is the practice in the Nigerian Army that before candidates are shortlisted for commissioning into the officers’ cadre of the service, the selection board verifies the original copies of credentials as presented, “There is no available record to show that this process was followed in the 1960s.”
The military’s comments came after the retired general had said that his lost copies of results were with the Army, an explanation he gave ahead of elections February 14.

UPDATE ON BUHARI CERTIFICATE: I graduated alongside Yar’Adua, had Grade II –Buhari

Former Head of State, Gen.Muhammadu Buhari
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the February election, Maj. Gen Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), has said the campaign by his opponents regarding the status of his secondary school education, is borne out of mischief.
Speaking in Kano on Wednesday on the controversy, which has suggested that Buhari might not have sat the West African School Certificate Examination as he claimed, having failed to tender the results, the APC flag bearer said he sat the Cambridge University/WASCE in 1961 and graduated in Second Division.
Buhari, a former Head of State, said, “I attended Provincial Secondary School, Kaduna, now Government College, Kaduna, and sat the University of Cambridge/WASCE in 1961, the year we graduated, alongside (now the late) Shehu Musa Yar’Adua (Chief of General Staff under Gen Olusegun Obasanjo as Head of State) and Justice Umar Abdullahi, a former President of Court of Appeal . My examination number is 8202220.”
He added that he had requested his old school, Government College, Kaduna, to make available his result.
Buhari said the controversy was the outcome of his vow to tackle unemployment, insecurity and corruption, accusing the Federal Government of employing every weapon in order to stay in power.

The Nigerian Army has said it is not in custody of the original certificates of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.
The Army, at a news conference by its Director of Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Olajide Laleye, in Abuja on Tuesday, added   that it was also not in possession of the photocopies or statement of results of Buhari.
It however explained that   the entry made for documentation by the APC candidate on its(Army) Form 199A,   indicated that he wrote and passed the West African School Certificate in 1961.
The Director of Media and Publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation, Garba Shehu, said in a terse statement on Tuesday night   that Buhari would address a new conference on the issue on Wednesday(today).
Buhari had in an affidavit he deposed to   at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on November 24, 2014 and submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission on December 18, 2014, said that his certificates were with the military.
“I am the above-named person and deponent to this affidavit therein. All my academic qualifications, documents as filled in my presidential form, President APC/001/2015, are currently with the Secretary, Military Board as of the time of presenting this affidavit. The affidavit is made in good faith and for record purposes,” he had written.
When the controversy over Buhari’s qualification gathered momentum, Laleye told said during an exclusive interview which was published on January 4, 2015, that the military authorities were ready to release credentials and certificates in its custody to serving and retired officers in need of them.
He said that the procedure for the retrieval or collection of the certificates was known to all serving or retired officers of the military.
On Tuesday, Laleye said   that military records showed that Buhari applied to join the Army   on October 18, 1961.   .
The Army spokesman explained that it was the tradition of the Army to ensure that a selection board was set up to verify the original credentials of candidates shortlisted for commissioning.
Laleye said that records did not show that the process was followed .
However, he said that the entry made for documentation by Buhari on Form 199A indicated that he had credit in English Language, Geography, History, Health Science, Hausa and a Pass in English Literature.
He said, “The media hype on Maj. Gen. Buhari’s credentials as well as the numerous requests made by individuals and corporate bodies to the Army on this issue have necessitated that we provide the facts as contained in the retired senior officer’s service record.
“Records available indicate that Maj. Gen. Buhari applied to join the military as a form six student of the Provincial Secondary School, Katsina on 18 October 1961.
“His application was duly endorsed by the principal of the school, who also wrote a report on him and recommended him suitable for military commission.
“It is a practice in the Army that before candidates are shortlisted for commissioning into the officers’ cadre of the service; the selection board verifies the original copies of credentials that are presented. However, there is no available record to show that this process was followed in the 1960s.
“Nevertheless, the entry made on Form 199A at the point of documentation after commission as an officer indicated that the former Head of State obtained the WASC in 1961 with credits in relevant subjects.
“Neither the original   certified true copy nor the statement of result of Maj. Gen. Buhari’s WASC result is in his personal file.
“I hope this explanation will put to rest, the raging controversy surrounding the secondary school credentials of Maj. Gen. Buhari as it affects the Nigerian Army.”
Although the Army authorities did not allow journalists to have copies of the documents filed by the former Head of State for his commissioning as an officer, they created an opportunity for the documents to be sighted
The Principal of the school, in recommending Buhari for commissioning as an officer, said “I recommend him for military commissioning; I consider that Mohammadu Buhari will pass the West Africa School Certificate in English, Maths and three other subjects.
Laleye said that the Army holds Buhari, who rose to the enviable rank of Maj. Gen, and was Head of State of the country, in high esteem and would not be party to the controversy over “his eligibility for any political office.”
However, the APC in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, urged the Peoples Democratic Party not to compromise the army   in the name of giving President Goodluck Jonathan an unfair advantage ahead of the February 14 presidential poll.
The APC said compromising the army   could backfire. It said the military, as a symbol of national unity, must   beware of those   seeking to use it to achieve selfish and divisive ends.
The party said it found it funny that the army spokesman had told The PUNCH in a publication on January 4, 2015 that it had the certificates of all serving and retired officers only to deny having Buhari’s credentials two weeks later.
It said, ‘‘In an interview with The Punch on January 4, 2015, Brig.-Gen. Olaleye said, ‘Every serving and retired Army officer has at least a copy of his certificates and credentials kept in the Nigerian Army while that same serving and retired officer has copies of those same certificates and credentials’
‘‘Is Brig.-Gen. Olaleye now saying that he did not make that statement? If he did, what has happened between then and now to make him to recant? It will be interesting to know what has transpired between then and now.”
The APC added,   ‘’Is he (Olaleye) now saying that all those who were commissioned into the officer cadres in the 1960s did not have their certificates verified? Does this not confirm what we said that in trying to destroy Maj. Gen. Buhari, the PDP and the Jonathan administration will end up destroying the army as an institution? Or is it only Maj. Gen. Buhari that was commissioned into the army in the 1960s.”
The APC argued that even if the army did not have Buhari’s certificates, he (Buhari) “is still very qualified to run for the country’s highest office, as stipulated by the 1999 Constitution.”
The party said since Olaleye had now confirmed that the form Buhari filed contained his Secondary School Certificate results, there was no scintilla of doubt about his qualification to run for President as stipulated by the constitution.
It added, ‘‘We know that the PDP and the Jonathan administration have constituted themselves into a court of law and will like nothing more than the disqualification of our candidate so they that will face no challenge in next month’s election.’’
Also, the   Director, Media and Information Management Directorate of Buhari Support Organisation,   Chidia Maduekwe,   said the issue of Buhari’s certificate was inconsequential.
He said, “INEC has said it and I am saying it again, if anybody has doubts about the general’s credentials, the person should go to court.
“What the constitution says is that a person seeking for the office of President should be educated up to the level of school certificate and there is evidence that the general was in school up till form six, his school principal attested to this, he joined the army and rose to the peak.”

I respect Ali Baba but AY (Ayo Makun) is junior to me –Omobaba

Omobaba
Omobaba talks about his life and career in this interview.

Were you born ‘Omobaba’?
My name is Fagade Oluwafemi Ademola, Kelvin Jnr. If you don’t mind, I’m a comedian of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and that’s what I do for a living.

 Why Kelvin Jnr?
Kelvin is my English name, and the ‘junior’ came from Ademola because my dad is Ademola and I’m the last of five kids.

Much has not been heard about Omobaba lately; what have you been up to?
I’ve been around doing a lot of stuffs. I don’t know the TV you have been watching or maybe it’s because I stopped doing free shows. Well, Omobaba has a platform for new comedians and established ones. He has a talk show, runs a comedy show called ‘Unknot your tie with Omobaba’ which runs every week and is not easy to do. My album is also ready. I’ve been in the studio recording my album which is, about to go into the market. I’ve also been busy doing my TV show.

Why don’t you do ‘free shows’?
All the shows you see on TV, we do them based on relationships majorly. Not all of them are paid for. Also, it might be because I’m being paid more somewhere on that same day and wouldn’t be able to make it to the other. But really, I’m on some of them.

Still on ‘free shows’ are you referring to shows like ‘AY Live’, Bovi’s ‘Man on fire’ and the rest?
Don’t get me wrong. There are a whole lot of shows out there, not just AY Live, but if I’m on AY’s show, you don’t expect him to pay me the exact amount I charge. He’s a friend and a brother in the industry, so we always do ‘padi padi’.

Are you saying AY can’t pay you?
He can’t! Why would he pay me? how can he pay me? He can’t pay me.

Are you saying that AY cannot afford you?
AY is a comedian and he is doing well for himself, which I’m very happy for, but the fact is AY is a junior colleague to me in the industry.

To some people, you are a business man, an actor, a musician also. What exactly do you do?
Simply call me a man of many talents. To some, God has given four, three, two and even one. It depends on how well you can manage them. I’m an actor, a writer, a comedian, a musician and I’m a business man. I’m not confused; I’m just making good use of my talents.

Considering the fact that you have been in the industry for over 10 years and some people think you should have enough money to manage a home, why are you not married?
When the time comes, I’ll get married. I’m seeing somebody now anyway and we’ve been together for a while, but I don’t want her to be known because she’s not the publicity-seeking type. I see the way some people bring their private life to the public, making fools of themselves. Well, I’m not that kind of person and so is the person I’m seeing.

But you are always seen with different girls at different shows…
Me! No. I don’t go to girls; they always come to me. Considering the fact that I am even finer now, girls just keep coming.

 Describe your future wife.
She’s beautiful; she will help the future of my kids when it comes to looks.

Are you saying you are ugly?
I’m not, I’m a fine boy.

How do you feel when you see older artistes struggling to meet up with the younger ones?
I’ve always been relevant and I’m still relevant in the market. Besides, it’s the other way round in the comedy industry, unlike the music industry. The younger ones in comedy are striving to beat the records of the older ones in the industry. I mean jokes that were composed 10 years ago still make more meaning than the ones they are composing now. I’ll say I’m the middle man in the comedy industry, I didn’t start from the top and I’m not part of the last. I have bosses like Ali (Baba), Gbenga, Julius, T.A, Basorge, Okey Bakassi, Klint, Gandoki, Basket Mouth. I met those people in the industry and we are still doing very well. The upcoming ones are not bad, but we are not challenged. If you cannot afford me, that is why you are not seeing me or Koffi on the bill. So you go for a cheaper product which you can afford. Yes, because you will not see Ali Baba averywhere because he will charge you.

 Is Alibaba better than you?
Yes he is! In fact he is a boss. He holds record of the comedian who has stayed on stage for  six good hours. I respect him a lot.

What  is your most embarrassing moment?
That wust be the day somebody looked at me and said I looked like 2Shots. How can anybody say I look like 2Shots? I’m way finer and taller than he is. It was quite embarrassing to me.

What if you are now compared to ‘I go die’
If someone compares me with ‘I go die’, I will die! In fact I will just die.

Do you have anything against him? Or is it that he is too ugly?
I’m finer, way finer. I will tweet it very soon, that if anyone compares me with ‘I go die’, I will die. That’s how painful it is.

How have you been able to avoid scandals?
Well I’ve learnt to cut my coat according to my cloth. To always be myself, and not try to be what I’m not.

 What is next for you?
I want to become a father, although nobody is carrying my child yet.

How Did You Know I Now Have A Bigger ‘Backside’?—Niyola Asks During Interview.

news

She was announced the winner of Best Vocal Performance (Female) at the 2014 Headies award and her name is Eniola Akinbo otherwise known as Niyola.

This artiste is gradually becoming one of the leading female stars in the entertainment industry in Nigeria at the moment.
In a chat with Nigeriafilms.com, the sassy songstress told us about her career, romance and plans for 2015.

What is the relationship between you and Banky W
He’s my boss and that’s it.

And if he proposes to you now, what will you say?
(Chuckles) I don’t know until he does.

What’s your ideal man like?
I don’t think there’s such thing as an ideal man. I just like a mature, very self-respecting, God-fearing and good looking who is also intelligent enough to take me for who I am.
Do you have the man already?
No, I'm yet to have him.

No one will take that from you. You've been in Nigeria for a while; you think Nigerian men are blind?
I'm single now because I chose to.

How long more would you like to remain single?
I don't know, when I'm ready for a relationship, I will know and you will also know after me.

Is the storyline of your video, 'Toh Bad' your true life experience?
Well, I would say that, in a way it is. I have felt love and I actually know what it feels being torn in between love for your job and the man you love. I also know that every woman at every point in time has been in a position where she has had to battle in the middle of such situation and that's why you have to go back when you know that someone isn't just good for you. You spent time think, oh, he's just being a man, I can understand what he's going through and all that.

What are you going to be doing differently in 2015?
2015 is here already and hopefully, I'm going to drop an album and my fans are going to be seeing more songs, more videos, local and international collaboration next year. I cannot tell you exactly what it would be.

If you have not been doing music, what else would you have done?
I honestly don't know because I have many talents. I love writing, and to meet and inspire people. I'm just a happy-go-lucky-girl, I get excited by little things in life, I don't ask for too many things and I'm very simple.
Who actually styles you?
It depends, today, I might be wearing April by Kunbi, but most of the times, I style myself but occasionally have people style me.

Your butt looks bigger, did you enhance it?
How did you know the size of my butt? Have you ever seen my butt before?

We used to see the size when you started singing but it's apparently bigger now?
I have no answer please.

Do you think female artistes are now more appreciated in Nigeria?
Of course, you get appreciated for the good works you put out there.

What have been your challenges in the industry so far?
I can't start to count because I take challenges well. I believe that for you to succeed, you must face challenges and at the point you're sure you've overcome some, that's when you know that you're growing. It's like when you are a seamstress, you want to sew and you get pricked by a needle, you'd not say that the problem you have is that you are hurt. It's your job and you take everything that comes like that.

Do you see yourself quitting EME musical company anytime soon?
No, I don't see myself leaving, at least not at the moment.

Stella Damasus Is Trying To Destroy Doris Simon’s Son

news

Few days ago, the online media was agog after pictures of sultry Nollywood star, Doris Simon posing with her son, David, hit the internet. The boy was said to have been snatched from his mother and taken to the United States of America (USA) by his father, a prominent movie director in Nigeria named Daniel Ademinokan, few years ago.
It is no news that the marriage of Daniel and Doris has hit the rock and that he allegedly relocated to the US with Stella Damasus, a top actress in Nigeria.
There have been unconfirmed reports that Stella and Daniel are lovers, even couple. They have been attending events together in the Barak Obama-led country since they moved there.
Doris was reportedly in the US recently and had the opportunity to see her son again. But those who have reacted to the pictures posted by Doris have expressed shock at the type of dress David wore in the photographs.
They alleged that Stella may be trying to make the boy consider changing his s3x from male to female. It was observed that the boy wore fashion accessories belong to a female. Those who made comments on the post further alleged that the winter jacket and boots wore by the boy may belong to Stella’s daughters and called out on his father for allegedly neglecting his son for another woman’s children. Read It HERE
Few of the comments read; “why is your son putting winter jacket for the girls, it’s probably used by Stella's daughters, please, Doris, try and get him a boy's jacket.”
“The boots look girly to me too, hope Stella, out of bad belle is not trying to turn this boy into becoming g@y? Doris ask him questions please, before your son, opts for transgender things. Or Stella just do not want to spend money and wears the boy, her daughters used clothes, so what is the stuuupid Daniel doing about this now?
“It’s ridiculous to see a boy dressed like this, Daniel with his blind love cannot buy a boy jacket for his son except Stella daughters okirika, na waaaoo!.This is exactly my daughter's boots. Shame to u, he (removed), Daniel. Ur son is now a transkid. Doris, take your son back, Stella is trying to destroy him by all means.”

She usually gets the thumbs up from us when it comes to her fashion sense and at the Marc Cain show at Berlin Fashion Week, Katie Holmes couldn't have been more on point.
SHowing support for her friend, the star opted to wear a look that was shown on the catwalk later that day. Very much ahead of the fashion game Miss Holmes!
We have to say we loved her look. She channelled chic, elegant style as she posed pre-show on the red carpet, her hair perfectly coiffed under a Fedora.
Because the look has literally just gone down the runway, you won't be seeing this look available until the end of summer.
But not to worry, because a grey duster coat has been popular this season too, so we've rounded up some alternatives that you can work right now for AW14, you'll be toasty, stylish and way ahead of the fash-pack.

The time has come for awards season to hit and January kicked things off with the Golden Globes.
After a star-studded ceremony with actors and actresses dressed to impress, most headed onwards to an after-party.
Model Cara Delevingne was one of the star guests in attendance. Currently one of the most famous models in the world, Cara has actually been given a few minor roles in films recently, so perhaps the young star is hoping to reach the heights of the Golden Globes herself one day.
But for now, she did what she does best and showed off her fashion credentials in a Thierry Mugler dress.
The plunging neckline was daring for the young star, though it suited her petite frame perfectly.
The front split made for an even more raunchy dress, but because it was maxi in length and black, she avoided veering away from sophistication.
The best news is, you can bag her exact Thierry Mugler dress at Shopbop, so get clicking to the right ladies. Or head below for some cheaper options on the high street.
